building things since 2017

i've been writing backend code and breaking game servers since 2017. started with Rust modding for some pretty big communities, accidentally became a sysadmin, and now i live somewhere between kubernetes clusters and discord bot pterodactyl logs. i automate things that probably didn't need automating and occasionally touch frontend when nobody else will.

Journey

  1. 2017

    The Beginning

Started modding Rust game servers for large communities — building unique systems, plugins, and performance improvements. Also got into backend services and bots. Got hooked on making things work behind the scenes.

  2. 2020

    Infrastructure Mode

Went deeper into sysadmin work, devops, and infrastructure management for game servers and hostings. Built CI/CD pipelines, automations, and spent more time in terminals than in actual games.

  3. 2021

    Behind the Screen

Took on customer-facing support. Learned that people come with no stack traces.

  4. Now

Reincarnated as the Entire Tech Department and Now I Don't Sleep

Maintaining and building systems end-to-end — backend, infrastructure, automation, and team leadership. Still deep in Rust, and bit of the other Rust. The occasional frontend, against my own will.
